October 2, 2024
Beam Benefits, a digitally-native employee benefits company, announced today that Alex Frommeyer has tapped Tolithia Kornweibel to be his successor and to serve as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 31, 2024. Frommeyer, who is a Beam co-founder, will remain an active member on the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors unanimously approved this promotion and is excited about the future of the company with Tolithia at the helm.
“When I first met Tolithia in 2019, I knew we needed to find a way to work together, and she graciously agreed to become Beam’s first independent board member at that time. I couldn’t be more excited for Tolithia to now be driving our company forward as we continue our work to modernize employee benefits,” Alex Frommeyer, Co-founder of Beam Benefits.
Joe Kaiser, Mercato Partners, and Beam Board Director adds that, “Alex Frommeyer accomplished the impossible to build Beam Benefits from an idea to a company that today serves tens of thousands of small businesses all over the country. Tolithia’s vast experience has positioned her to take this innovative, fast-growing company through its next chapter of scale and Fro could not have picked a better successor as CEO.”
Kornweibel brings nearly three decades of leadership experience spanning tech and insurance industries. Prior to joining Beam, Tolithia served as Chief Revenue Officer at Gusto, a benefits and payroll management software. Previously, she was also the Chief Marketing Officer at Gusto with prior tenures at Esurance and Netflix.
“It’s an honor to carry forward the Beam mission," shares Kornweibel. "I care deeply about helping employers provide their employees ancillary benefits—especially newer and smaller companies. Helping Beam scale professionally and reliably as a benefits company, a tech company, and to lead an incredible group of humans is an opportunity I’m truly grateful for.”
